I have always loved sports equipment. I like the odor of a new baseball mitt, the feel of new bat, and the stiffness of a new pair of soccer cleats. The sport doesn’t even matter that much. I would like to suggest there is another way, and a far better way for you to get what you want from a fitness plan. What is this way? Well, what about playing a sport? When you were younger did you go down the park with a few friends and just kick a ball around? Just think how much exercise you got from doing that. Calculate how many calories were used up in one hour of playing a game of football. And don’t forget the cardio-vascular benefits.

If you aren’t sure if you have the time for organized sports, know upfront that it is time consuming! There are practices, games, meetings and possibly playoffs if your time is good enough. There will also be informal practices that will take place at your home to help your child improve whether they want to do it or you do. It is a lot of hours added to your already crazy schedule but it is worth it.
You will probably have to unlearn some of the things that you have learned in the past and you may have to develop some new habits. This change will take some time and practice. You probably need to spend a good bit of time on the practice tee and the driving range to develop the technique but the improvements are well worth your time and effort.
All those things do not bother me in the least. Because all those things mean my husband is home. We do not fight over simple things like that, for the bigger picture is much more complicated. My husband is not perfect, but he has our best intentions at heart. Over the years, he has missed my birthday, a few Christmas’s, the children birthdays, even our anniversary. He hasn’t seen a single soccer game of the kids, and has managed to miss every play and every concert too.
