I watched Illinois play Purdue recently and fortunately for me the Fighting Illini won the game 44-10. Illinois has a moderately successful football program and they don’t blow a lot of teams out. Purdue was without their top 2 quarterbacks so they weren’t playing at full potential but I didn’t care. Illinois played a lot of younger players themselves, including a freshman quarterback.
Last year, the 49ers earned a hard fought win against this Lions and Detroit is looking for revenge. They’ll get a national audience for this one on Sunday Night football to make a statement. It will be important for the team to show last season’s victory was not a fluke comeback and show they’re for real. Like the 49ers, the Lions are an up and coming team with loads of young talent. Calvin “Megatron” Johnson and Matthew Stafford will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
You don’t always need to take the shot with your camera at eye level. Support your camera on your waist when taking the photo. Some luck or experience is needed here to get the framing right.
As I have written before I am a classmate of Robert Gibbs. He and I are ’92 NC State alums. He was a poly sci major; I was a poly sci and history major. I did not really know him other then to nod acknowledgment of one another as we had so many classes and teachers and in the same buildings. Like I stated before, he was smarmy then too, but he was a soccer goalie, thus a BMOC sort of. I was not impressed – then or now.
Having said that… I firmly believe in winning games, just not at the cost of demoralizing people. Coaches need to look at the whole of the situation and do what is right for the kids, not for the moment. If you are playing a particularly weak team, then make sure that the subs are in the game and you aren’t running up the score. I’m not saying to tell your kids not to play, but make sure that the situation is treated correctly.
This award often doesn’t have upsets, so that might knock Suh out – and they may not have enough excuses to give Tebow one more win. McCoy could get it for his body of work – though it might make Suh fans more upset – while Gerhart has some of the year’s best games under his belt. But it says something that this could be the best Heisman show in a while, when the race looked muddled most of the way.
How much of our world would shift overnight, I wondered, if we all suddenly insisted on banding together? On taking care of each other. All of us. What if it was simply unacceptable to let anyone slip through the cracks of society?
